Large floral arrangements look magnificent in the grandiose dimensions of large stoneware pieces. In England we are privileged and fortunate enough to have access to some of the most splendid architectural buildings in the world. Stately homes, Churches, Ancient Castles and Galleries are the perfect setting for these alternative pieces. They suit the atmosphere of such venues and look very much in keeping when matched with bare stone walls or mahogany panelling.
However, as suited as these pieces may be to grand surroundings, they work equally well against the soft folds of marquee linings – a perfect neutral background against which the ‘stone-like’ finish of these urns sit very comfortably. The contrast between the two textures works very successfully – especially when combined with the elegance of a grand floral display.
